Has Margiela left the building?

No one seems to be able to answer that question. And as a Margiela-fan I'm getting really worried. Style.com's Sarah Mower wrote in her review of the fall-09 collection, that maybe a way to know if Margiela is still there or not is to look at the collection and see if it's a strong one, full of ideas, like they usually are with Margiela behind the wheel. But she didn't see it. And unfortunately, after looking at it a while ago, I have to agree with her. I did'nt see that inovative designer that Margiela is. Still, no one knows for sure yet. But I'm feeling pretty pessimistic in this case. And I've started grieving over one of my alltime favourite designers. But, of course I will end this post by featuring some of the looks that I liked from the fall collection. Just to make myself a bit happier.

Stylist Camille Bidault-Waddington at the Spring 09-shows (above, at Balenciaga and at the top, outside the Chanel-show).

Love her work AND her personal style. She looks so french and cool (ok, maybe not the most intelligent comment but any way:))

-Oh, nurse...

Marc Jacob's collaboration with Richard Prince at Louis Vuitton, last Spring. It looks so cool when they're all lined up like that.
Image from Pop (no. 17 winter 2007).

Got a sudden fascination for nurses after disouvering the art of Richard Prince.:)

"I am doll parts.."

Found Hole's single Doll parts (on vinyl!) a few weeks ago. Think the cover design is so pretty (design: Janet Wolsborn), sort of pink&black-feminism and riot grrl.

Also noticed a text on the back-cover (don't know if it's Courtney who wrote it), very dark and very beautiful.

dreamy peignoir in cloud soft blue nylon and snowy white lace, pale blue ribbon tie holds the peignoir at Empire waist. pretty pink bedroom scuffs knocked against the plumbing below the sink as he held her up and the only sound was Niagara Falls. later she dreamed of the apocalypse on a pale satin pillow with lace edging.

Some pictures I took (july 07) at a Carl von Linné exhibition, made by school kids. I love all colours, the dolls they made (portraying Linné) looks pretty scary, though.:)

I sort of have a thing for skeletons...

From Numéro, April 08 -
photographer Horst Diekgerdes
Ok, this picture doesn't look to good beacuse of my lack of scanning-skills.
But anyway, Karlie Kloss is working that necklace by Delfina Delettrez (I love surrealism!).

Smokin'!

The annual filmfestival has started in my little town.
Discovered this this beautiful picture on the programme cover (my mom put her name on her catalog).
A painting by artist/illustrator Camilla Engman.

I had lost my mind with Daniel Johnston, from the film the devil and Daniel Johnston.

Unfortunately I have'nt got a chance to see it, but anyway I'm a big fan of his music and I really like this illustration/animation made by Daniel.

Some messy things by me. Really messy.
I've got too much spare time.

Dancer in the dark

From the movie I found myself alone (a clay animation!) by artist Nathalie Djurberg,
shown now at the Zach Feuer Gallery in New York.
I haven't seen the movie myself, but I just read an article about her and got very curious...

Prada-Pop

(From the september-issue of Pop, the cover-story by Miuccia Prada.)

I love this covershot. The magazine stands on a shelf in my room
and I always got breathless every time I look at it.

Tadaa!

This is the juicy stuff.
